Gratuitous Chicken Cuteness

The first three pictures are of the same little bantam rooster.  The 2nd and 3rd pic show him with his feathers all poofed up to stay warm.  Funny little guy!

I posted an article at Community Cluckers about where we got the plan for our nest box.

  1. Oh my! What gorgeous colors on that rooster! Gosh, this brings back such fun memories from my grandma's farm. Only we killed and ate the chickens occasionally :( But we had to eat something, right? Not like you could buy chicken at the store in eastern europe back in the day...

  2. He is so gorgeous! The other birds are pretty too, but I love the colors of his feathers!

  3. I love birds... even chickens. That rooster has beautiful color.

Since I live in a suburb I can't have a chicken coop. But if I lived in a rural area I'd have a little backyard farm.

  4. Who knew that chickens could be so cute! It helps when they have beautifully colored feathers. Thanks for the lovely pictures.

  5. Beautiful colors. Down comforters are warm so hopefully those feathers are working for him too! ;-)

  6. Oh I gotta show these pics to Audrey...she's slightly chicken-obsessed. Which reminds me that I have to take something out of the freezer for dinner tonight.
